Self.Portrait is a representation of how your outer-self can feel like during dissociation. Seing yourself from a third person perspective but still not seing yourself clearly. 

It can be a self-defense mechanism the body uses after a trauma, it can be the side-effects of a personality disorder, whatever it is, the feeling can both trigger numbness helping you process hard emotions- and for some it might feel scary. 

It could be explained as being a stranger in your own body and having a glaze that some describe as "empty", not giving away feelings or emotions.
